We’re trying a lot more tea this time, two 1/2 gallon brews of 21 grams of tea each. This left room for about 2 cups of water in our 1.5 gallon jar which means we’re using about 18 cups of water. This is compared to the 10.5 cups of water we use in our 1 gallon jar. To stick to our old recipe we would do 2 brews of 18 grams each so we’ve got an extra 6 grams in this batch. We’ll see if we like the extra tea flavor. As for sugar we used 2 full cups in this batch which is an increase in sugar as well. We’ll have to see how this compares to our old recipe. We let our last big batch go for 8 days and it tasted pretty darn good. Depending on the temperature we may let this one go for 8 days as well.

We harvested this on 8/4. We made 5 bottles of plain with 1 tsp of sugar and 4 grapes with 1/4 cup of grape juice and 1 tsp of sugar. This batch tasted really good so we’re going to stick with using more tea, 42 grams for the big batch and 25 for the small.
